Scientific Proofs that Global Warming is Groundless (Research Paper Sample) Content: Scientific Proofs that Global Warming is GroundlessNameCourseInstructorDateScientific Proofs that Global Warming is GroundlessGlobal warming is the average rise of temperature on the surface of the earth due to the greenhouse effect. Greenhouse effect is caused by entrapped heat within the earthà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬s atmosphere, caused by an increase in the amount of carbon dioxide gas in the atmosphere. Carbon dioxide is mainly produced by deforestation and combustion of fossil fuels. Research has revealed that there is a general increase of carbon dioxide in the air because of vast industrialization in different countries. This paper discusses the various scientific proofs that global warming is groundless.Currently, there are various scientific proofs that global warming is real, and it is taking place in an alarming rate. For instance, scientists have revealed that the sea level has been rising. Large oceans have recorded a significant rise in water levels. This is said to be caused by melting of ice caps, and glaciers in the region of Antarctica because of high atmospheric temperature. This has clearly proven that global warming is real, and it exists. In addition, scientists have also proven that the ocean acidification has been increasing from the time industrial revolution started. According to the current statistics, it has been approximated that the acidity has increased by 30%. This increase has been due to rise in human activities, which release a lot of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. The upper surface of ocean water absorbs the carbon dioxide gas resulting to an increase in the acidity level. The fact that acidity level is increasing in the oceans, proofs that the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is also increasing. Since carbon dioxide is responsible for global warming, as the acidity level increases, it means global warming is also taking place at the same rate.Research has also revealed that there is an increase in the temperature of o cean water. The top 700 meters (approximately 2,300 feet), of ocean, water has been showing an increase in temperature by 0.302 degrees Fahrenheit. This depicts that the atmospheric temperature has been increasing over time, a clear proof of global warming. Moreover, there has been a general increase in global temperatures. Across different countries, it has been reported that temperatures are increasing abnormally. Different inland water bodies have been shrinking due to increase in the rate of evaporation, because of high temperatures. In conclusion, scientists have clearly proven that global warming is groundless. This has been supported by their various proofs. For instance, they have revealed that the sea level has been r... Global Warming Research Paper - 550 Words Global Warming (Research Paper Sample) Content: WHAT CAN AN INDIVIDUAL DO ABOUT GLOBAL WARMING?Studentà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬s NameCourseProfessorà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬s NameInstitutional AffiliationCityDateWhat can an individual do about global warming? There is a direct connection between global warming and universal sea levels, which have risen by more than eight inches since 1870 (Clarke, 2010: 209). Although different lobby groups are continually looking for ways to avert the effects of climate change, there is a general agreement that individual input is also pertinent. This essay examines three contributions that individuals can make to combat global warming namely; energy conservation, tree planting and educating the community.Anyone can take part in mitigating global warming through simple steps like using energy efficient appliances. Gardiner, Simon and Jamieson et al., explain that routine human activities such as burning fossil fuels for transportation, heat and electricity, emit tons of greenhouse gases and carbon dioxide int o the atmosphere (2010: 144). Driving energy efficient vehicles, replacing regular 60-watt bulbs with LED lighting and installing solar water heaters are some actions that individuals can take to reduce emissions of heat-trapping gases. In fact, the United States Environmental Protection Agency, UEPA, reveals, more than 200 coal stations can be decommissioned if Americans reduce their power usage by only 25% (2015).Planting trees is another sustainable personal activity that can significantly help to fight global warming. Trees are a major part of the atmospheric cycle since they absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen into the atmosphere, as discussed by Clarke (2010: 211-212). A typical tree can absorb more than 40 pounds of carbon dioxide annually and about 1 ton by the time it reaches 50 years old (Kent 2009). It is hence undeniable that if every individual in the world decides to fight illegal logging and promote tree planting, the atmosphere will soon have an acceptable amoun t of carbon dioxide.Lastly, one can choose to teach friends, family and co-workers about global warming. It is a known fact that education can overwhelmingly impact on the societyà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬s response to climate change (UEPA 2015). Many people will become environmentally responsible if they learn the importance of conserving the ecological system as argued by Cripps (2013). Simple knowledge such as recycling household waste and conservation of energy can be taught easily to anyone. Individuals can also join environmental lobby groups in their neighborhoods or read books that teach about global warming. There is no exaggeration in arguing that ...
